The Fourth Industrial Revolution – Are Manufacturing Jobs At Risk?

In a radio interview with Abongile Nzelenzele of Cape Talk, I seek to avert the fears and anxiety that the onset of the Fourth Industrial Revolution holds for manufacturing in South Africa. Increased automation and robotics will certainly make many existing jobs redundant, but therein lies the opportunity for the public and private sectors to re-skill their labour force and create additional value – and in so doing improve the level of employment and grow the sector.
